In the later part of the evening,

The television is off,

The dogs have been put to bed,

My wife has gone to sleep.

There is time and peace now to contemplate.

The whole world is crazy,

Politicians are liars,

The stock market is crap.

War is futile,

Tax is inevitable,

So is death,

But when?

I light my peace candle,

And stare into the flame,

I wish for world peace,

Am I alone?

The flame flickers brightly,

Offering hope,

If only all humanity looked,

Into that flickering flame………..
